April 2008: Healthy young female volunteers needed for a Clinical Trial to help prevent cervical cancer!

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a common infection that is often undiagnosed. By helping prevent infection with

The Keogh Institute for Medical Research is inviting healthy young women to enrol in a trial which is
investigating a new vaccine to help prevent infection with certain types of HPV.
You could be eligible to participate if:-
• you are a healthy young woman aged 18-26
• have no history of gynaecological problems and
• are able to make about 12 visits to
The Keogh Institute over a 36 month period

Oct 2006: CALL FOR ACTION!

Break the Silence: Supporting gynaecological cancer survival, research and diagnosis in Australia

On 19 October 2006 a Senate report entitled “Breaking the Silence: a National Voice for Gynaecological Cancer” was released. This report is the outcome of the first national Government inquiry into the needs of the gynaecological cancer sector which has very high mortality rates and is under funded.

In order for the recommendations to be translated into reality we need the Government to support the recommendations and allocate adequate funding as a matter of priority in women’s health.
For this to happen – we need you to help us take action - find out how

Oct 2006: GAIN’s Founder takes a well earned break……………

Kath Mazzella , founder after 10 long years of driving GAIN, takes a well earned break from her official duties on the committee.

Having successfully spread the word and broken down the taboos of talking about gynaecological health, Kath moves on to help others achieve what it took her years to do.

Whilst Kath will leave the committee she will still play a major role in the ongoing work of GAIN. We commend Kath for the hard work she has put in to this very important role that she has played in our community and wish her all the best with her new endeavours.

Kath will step down after the AGM on September 26th 2006.
