National Gynaecological Awareness Day

It could be your mother, your grandmother, your daughter, sister, cousin, aunt or friend – it’s very likely that someone close to you has been affected by a gynaecological condition, whether it is vulva cancer, endometriosis, cervical cancer or polycystic ovaries.

National Gynaecological Awareness Day was established to encourage the breaking down of social taboos surrounding gynaecological issues and promote open and frank discussion about issues affecting gynaecological conditions.

The day is celebrated on September 10th with the Great Gynae Day out event each year in Perth, Western Australia.

International Vulva Day

GAIN held a very successful inaugural International Vulva Day event on April 1st 2006.

The event was supported by and held at St John of God Hospital Subiaco. It focused on awareness of the vulva, conditions and cancers.

GAIN hopes to make this an annual event.
