Kath Mazzella Founder of GAIN - Committee Member Kath established GAIN Inc in Perth, Western Australia, in February 2001, when she sought a support network for women who had endured the similar trauma of a gynaecological cancer, and found none. For more information please click here.
Tina Schiavello, PhD - Chair / PresidentTina joined GAIN as a committee member in 2008 and is now Chairperson of GAIN. Tina completed her PhD in Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney in 2002 and worked on Rett Syndrome at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research. Following this, Tina relocated to the UK for 2 years. Since returning to Perth, Tina worked for Biotechnology companies in Technical Sales and looked after the women’s health portfolio in diagnostics. Through this her passion for women’s health inspired Tina to undertake voluntary work in the womens health area and focus on gyanecological health issues including HPV and cervical cancer, sexually transmitted infections, infertility to name a few.
Tina now works with her husband in their mortgage broking business and is learning the skills of being self employed.
Her interests include reading autobiographies, voluntary work, exercising, cooking and travelling.
Kali Boermans - TreasurerKali has recently joined GAIN as the new Treasurer. Kali bring on a wealth of experience in book keeping as she has her own book kepping business and has woked in this area over many years. Kali is passionate about womens health issues and is demonstrating this through her involvment in GAIN.
Jeanette has been involved in GAIN for going on 2 years. Jeanette also performs voluntary work for the Cancer Foundation as a volunteer to help ladies that are going through different types of Cancer. Jeanette works at the wig library where ladies come to be fitted for wigs, scarves and turbans whilst going through chemo in losing their hair – her duties occupy her two mornings a month and as such Jeanette has been with them for nearly 3 years.
Jeanette’s work background is generally secretarial where she has worked as a P.A. Over the years she has travelled extensively with her husband to the U.K. and has done additional Temp work whilst there. Jeanette now works part time as an Administrator for my husband’s Fund Management business.
Her hobbies are exercise, fashion, reading, cooking, eating out and travelling.
A/Clinical Professor Jenny McCloskey - Committee Member
Jenny McCloskey is an infectious and sexual health physician and Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia. Jenny acts as a clinical consultant to GAIN providing guidance and ideas and clinical information on various aspects of gynaecological health.
Wei Lian Tan - Volunteer
Lian is a first year medical student and will be assisting GAIN with the newsletters.
